THIS GUY on flickr took some stunning photos of our beloved San Diego County.
Mine? Not so great. Plus, I didn't bother to climb atop of a mountain to get 'em.
San Marcos, Carlsbad, Oceanside, & Vista
Oceanside looking toward Vista
Speaking of Vista, we are actually now thinking this is our top pick. It's a little North of San Marcos and a bit older. I like old. It gives character. We will most likely be living in a tiny hole-in-the-wall to start. Launching a business is high stress, and we don't want the added burden of a mortgage or high rent. But it's kind of romantic--like starting over. Remember the days of being a newly wed? And your furniture was all 50 year old thrift store buys? And you ate Ramen most nights because you burned the dinner? And you clipped coupons to save every penny you earned?
Hmmm...that's still us.
But there's nothing wrong with that. Anyway, Vista had kind of a
small Mediterranean town feel to it. I loved the windy streets and all the green.
Oh the green!
